The Beginning of Tricycle Studios

Posted by: Tricycle Studios In: General

Tricycle communications began in the fall of 1995. As owners and managing partners, Randy Rosenthal came from a background in video productions and Tona Bell specialized in advertising and public relations. Their combined knowledge of marketing blended with a playful approach to new media is the foundation of Tricycle Studios.

Originally specializing in video, animation and interactive programs, their first multimedia program was on a 1MB floppy disk back in 1995.

Tricycle Studios is dedicated to the fresh, youthful enthusiasm and the uninhibited energy of the child in all of us to solve tough creative problems.

Through video from script-to-screen, animation, web design + custom applications, professional education + sales training programs, high definition entertainment programs, Tricycle has evolved into a full service creative shop that specializes in thought-provoking marketing, education and entertainment.

Tricycle sees the future of communications and entertainment as a blend of technology and analog mixed with the spirit of conscious living.

Simply put, Tricycle Studios creates marketing-based media for positive change.

Tricycle Studios Launches Pet Life TV on the Web

Posted by: Tricycle Studios In: General

Pawsitively the best new show celebrating
the bond between people and pets

Tampa, FL – February 16, 2009 – Whether they bark, purr, chirp or croak, our favorite animals are more than our pets; they’re a member of the family and an active part of our lives. To celebrate that human-animal bond, Tricycle Studios, a digital media content producer, specializing in high-impact entertainment and marketing, is launching Pet Life TV on the Web today.

Pet Life TV celebrates the human-animal bond by exploring lifestyles, health and wellness trends, the latest products and services, and the many ways pets can live a great life alongside the people who accompany them on their adventures.

In each webisode, our host, Kristen Levine, takes viewers on a journey to discover the irreverent, rewarding and often surprising stories that are unique to the pet life experience.

“In America today, 83% of dog owners refer to themselves as their pet’s ‘mommy’ or ‘daddy’*. I think that statistic alone shows that we’ve moved to a new level in our relationships with our animals. They are truly a part of our lives.” said Levine, a pet lifestyle expert for more than 20 years, who is currently a mom to one dog, one cat, two miniature donkeys and four goats.

“Pet Life TV is designed to honor that connection we have with our pets, and to help people find new ways to interact with and care for their furry, feathered, or scale-covered best friends.” she said.

The first nine webisodes showcase the best that the pet lifestyle has to offer, from the tiniest desk pets and most beautiful birds, to stylish pet fashions and smart food for Fido. Webisodes in the first season include:

“Trendiest Tails in Town”

Fashion and products for your dog or cat to be furry and fabulous!

“The Tweet Life”

All you need to know about your favorite-feathered friend.

“Paws-itively Healthy Pet Food”

All green treats, toys, pest control and more for your all-natural pet.

Shot and produced entirely in High Definition, Pet Life TV webisodes can be found at www.petlifetv.com.  This content-rich Web site compliments each episode with short, fun and informative articles, exciting pet product showcases, fun pet facts, cool things to do for, and with, your pet, plus much more.

Pet Life TV is available in a wide variety of formats to meet the needs of viewers.  With webisodes designed for any stream to any screen, Pet Life TV can deliver its media experience across multiple devices including video-on-demand, streaming Internet television and podcast subscriptions. Other media include full-length HD programs, one-minute daytime news vignettes and syndicated radio shows.

In the past 10 years, pet spending has more than doubled and is expected to hit over $50 billion by the end of the decade. Pet Life TV targets the coveted 18 - 54 demographic, however, the content and delivery platforms are diverse enough to appeal to a much wider range of people and the pets they love.

Tricycle Studios is actively seeking advertising, sponsorship and distribution partners for the Pet Life TV package.

Chester, The Fat Tabby Cat

Posted by: Tricycle Studios In: General

Chester, The Fat Tabby Cat.

About a year ago, a handsome and very personable young cat showed up on the steps of Tricycle Studios and declared his presence. We tried to find his people (he had been fixed and had no collar) but no one could find them. He demanded we let him in every morning and give him breakfast. He quickly started showing up for work everyday. He told Tona, our resident crazy cat lady, that his name was Chester.

With perfect attendance, everyday we are greeted by him as he makes his rounds and says hello to each of us. He then goes to one of his spots and sacks out for the rest of the day until it is time for dinner. He receives oodles of head scratches and playful gestures as we cross his path, but he is usually passed out for most of the day. We all wondered what the hell does Chester do at night? This is his story…

We are grateful that Chester, a.k.a. “C-Money”, adopted us.

Tricycle Tip #1: Think visually.

Posted by: Tricycle Studios In: General

There’s a reason why TV and internet video sites are booming while newspapers are going out of business. People understand pictures faster and more easily than words. With pictures you can communicate complex ideas instantly.

Streaming video enhances visitor experience on your web site.  Here are three ways:

1. Human Interface - using an online host, your web site becomes a virtual sales center with a visitor’s own dedicated representative.  Bring your site to life and help tell your story in a more memorable way.

Video guide enhances viewers’ web experience

2. Viral Marketing Videos - blur the lines between advertising and programming by engaging audiences.  Entertaining content replaces ads, which become more effective and more memorable.

3. Testimonial Videos - are the purest form of advertising.  Rather than trying to remember an ad, people can remember a story.  Your clients give third party credibility to your company and their stories help overcome common objections.

At Tricycle Studios we solve marketing challenges with innovative video-based products and sales solutions.
Let us show you how.

Snack Time Presents: Randy’s Hummus

Discover the key ingredient that makes this hummus so scrumptious.  This entertaining video and easy-to-follow recipe shares instructions, fun facts, and even alternative twists on the usual garbanzo bean dip.

INGREDIENTS

    Canned Chick Peas
    Fresh Garlic
Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Olive Oil
    Sesame Tahini
    Ground Cumin
    Fresh Lemons
    Fresh Ground Black Pepper
    Paprika

Crush and chop a lot of garlic.  I use about 5 to 6 large cloves.  The trick is to use more garlic than you think you should.  Be dangerous!

Squeeze the juice from about 1 ½ lemons.

Combine 2 tablespoons of SESAME TAHINI, the LEMON JUICE, GARLIC, about 2 –3 tablespoons of water, a little bit of CUMIN, and a little bit of PEPPER.  Stir until the TAHINI is mixed fairly well.  Sometimes the TAHINI is hard to dissolve, so use a blender if you want.

(At this point if you add more water, you have Lemon-Tahini salad dressing.)

Drain one can of CHICK PEAS, set a side a few peas for garnish, put the rest in a blender and blend away.  Add water to achieve your desired consistency.  Place into a nice bowl and use a spoon to make a few dents in the top.  Pour a little bit of OLIVE OIL in the dents and sprinkle CUMIN, PEPPER, PAPRIKA, finely chopped PARSLEY (if you want to be really fancy) and a few whole CHICK PEAS on top to garnish.

Serve with toasted garlic sprinkled pita wedges.  ENJOY!

BLACK BEAN HUMMUS:  Double portions from above, but use one can DRAINED BLACK BEANS and one can CHICK PEAS.  Sprinkle CHOPPED GREEN ONION on top.  YUM!

  • Cat Lover: What a cute article. Loved the video. Hope Chester is still around!
