Chester, The Fat Tabby Cat

Posted by: Tricycle Studios In: General

Chester, The Fat Tabby Cat.

About a year ago, a handsome and very personable young cat showed up on the steps of Tricycle Studios and declared his presence. We tried to find his people (he had been fixed and had no collar) but no one could find them. He demanded we let him in every morning and give him breakfast. He quickly started showing up for work everyday. He told Tona, our resident crazy cat lady, that his name was Chester.

With perfect attendance, everyday we are greeted by him as he makes his rounds and says hello to each of us. He then goes to one of his spots and sacks out for the rest of the day until it is time for dinner. He receives oodles of head scratches and playful gestures as we cross his path, but he is usually passed out for most of the day. We all wondered what the hell does Chester do at night? This is his story…

We are grateful that Chester, a.k.a. “C-Money”, adopted us.

Tricycle Tip #1: Think visually.

Posted by: Tricycle Studios In: General

There’s a reason why TV and internet video sites are booming while newspapers are going out of business. People understand pictures faster and more easily than words. With pictures you can communicate complex ideas instantly.

Streaming video enhances visitor experience on your web site.  Here are three ways:

1. Human Interface - using an online host, your web site becomes a virtual sales center with a visitor’s own dedicated representative.  Bring your site to life and help tell your story in a more memorable way.

Video guide enhances viewers’ web experience

2. Viral Marketing Videos - blur the lines between advertising and programming by engaging audiences.  Entertaining content replaces ads, which become more effective and more memorable.

3. Testimonial Videos - are the purest form of advertising.  Rather than trying to remember an ad, people can remember a story.  Your clients give third party credibility to your company and their stories help overcome common objections.

At Tricycle Studios we solve marketing challenges with innovative video-based products and sales solutions.
Let us show you how.

Snack Time Presents: Randy’s Hummus

Discover the key ingredient that makes this hummus so scrumptious.  This entertaining video and easy-to-follow recipe shares instructions, fun facts, and even alternative twists on the usual garbanzo bean dip.

INGREDIENTS

    Canned Chick Peas
    Fresh Garlic
Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Olive Oil
    Sesame Tahini
    Ground Cumin
    Fresh Lemons
    Fresh Ground Black Pepper
    Paprika

Crush and chop a lot of garlic.  I use about 5 to 6 large cloves.  The trick is to use more garlic than you think you should.  Be dangerous!

Squeeze the juice from about 1 ½ lemons.

Combine 2 tablespoons of SESAME TAHINI, the LEMON JUICE, GARLIC, about 2 –3 tablespoons of water, a little bit of CUMIN, and a little bit of PEPPER.  Stir until the TAHINI is mixed fairly well.  Sometimes the TAHINI is hard to dissolve, so use a blender if you want.

(At this point if you add more water, you have Lemon-Tahini salad dressing.)

Drain one can of CHICK PEAS, set a side a few peas for garnish, put the rest in a blender and blend away.  Add water to achieve your desired consistency.  Place into a nice bowl and use a spoon to make a few dents in the top.  Pour a little bit of OLIVE OIL in the dents and sprinkle CUMIN, PEPPER, PAPRIKA, finely chopped PARSLEY (if you want to be really fancy) and a few whole CHICK PEAS on top to garnish.

Serve with toasted garlic sprinkled pita wedges.  ENJOY!

BLACK BEAN HUMMUS:  Double portions from above, but use one can DRAINED BLACK BEANS and one can CHICK PEAS.  Sprinkle CHOPPED GREEN ONION on top.  YUM!

INGREDIENTS:

Fresh pita bread (I prefer whole wheat or multigrain but white is fine)
Extra virgin olive oil or olive oil spray (with brush for coating)
    Garlic salt
    Herb blend of seasonings (optional)
    Cookie sheet

Cut pita bread in pie shape wedges (like a pizza)

Separate chips into single layer (since it is a pocket)

Brush, drip, or spray olive oil on top of pita slices

Sprinkle with garlic salt and/or seasonings

Preheat oven to 325°F. Place on cookie sheet in a single layer. Bake until lightly browned about 3 – 5 minutes depending on your oven. (Be careful they can burn quickly.) Makes approximately two to three dozen depending on how small or large you slice the pita chips.

Best when served with Randy’s Garlicky Hummus.
